I started onto the path of fine-art twenty-one years ago. It was fiber art that first released the creative energy within me. I have won many awards at the local and provincial level for my fiber artwork. In 2001, I had a solo quilt and fiber art show at the University of Manitoba.
Watercolour art is my new-found passion. Pencil, coloured pencils, pastels, acrylics, inks and collages are also used in my artistic expression. Regular workshop attendance gives further depth, understanding and appreciation of this field.
Colour and texture are very evident in my paintings. As an experimental artist, I like to explore and develop new ways to give meaning and, hopefully, add depth to my paintings.
People, places, animals, abstracts and nature are my favourite choices for subject matter. I have sold my work across North America and it is my hope to extend my art into other parts of the world.
I am a member of the Local Colour art group and a studio group that meets weekly. I have works at the Wayne Arthur Gallery, and have shown works with Art Rocks, Forum Art Institute, Local Colour Art Group, and Assiniboine Park Conservatory.
